The Agricultural University of Athens (AUA) is the third oldest university in Greece. Since 1920, it has been making valuable contributions to Greek and European agricultural and economic development, by conducting basic and applied research in the agricultural sciences, and by producing high quality graduates as well as cutting edge scientific knowledge.
The Agricultural University of Athens will conduct a composting workshop to the students. Composting is a natural process which is defined as “biological oxidative degradation and stabilization process of the organic materials under conditions which lead to the development of thermophilic temperature range and the final product should be stable enough for application to the soil without adverse environmental effects” .
This workshop aims to inform students of the benefits of this method and to actively engage them in a series of decision making, crucial for the environment and nature.
