CMS

CMS © 2015 CERN, for the benefit of the CMS Collaboration

The European Organization for Nuclear Research CERN is the largest high-energy physics laboratory in the world. Founded in 1954 by a dozen European countries, including Greece, constituting one of the first post-war efforts of a common European vision based on scientific progress and discovery.

Within the context of the programme, both students and teachers will have the unique opportunity to visit the CMS experiment virtually, one of the four experiments of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). Furthermore, they will seize the chance to talk with Greek CERN researchers and learn about research, technology and the way in which CMS and CERN contribute to a better understanding of the universe.
